Call for Expression of Interest to Partner with RICE-WN

 

Rural Initiative for Community Empowerment West Nile (RICE-WN) is implementing a four years’ project entitled, “Increasing access to sustainable and renewable energy alternatives in the Albertine Graben to conserve high value forest ecosystems to benefit people and nature in Uganda” funded by World Wide Fund (WWF) in the districts of Arua, Maracha, Koboko, Nebbi, Moyo and Adjumani.

 

The goal of the project is: Communities living in the Albertine Graben have adopted sustainable and renewable energy alternatives to reduce dependency on biomass for their energy needs.

 

To achieve this goal, RICE-WN seeks to partner with 18 Civil Society Organizations (CBOs, Women/Youth/Men Groups) operating in at least one of the above mentioned six (6) districts of West Nile Sub-region.

 

Expression of Interest detailing: 1) Organization’s mandate (vision, mission and core values); 2) Area of coverage and physical location; 3) Focus areas of intervention; 4) Existing networks/partnerships; and 5) Experience in implementing sustainable and renewable energy promotion projects or related community work are therefore invited from interested CSOs to address them to The Executive Director, RICE-WN not later than 5.00pm of Thursday August 24, 2017 for Arua district CSOs.

Meanwhile,  CSOs from Moyo, Adjumani, Koboko, Maracha and Nebbi to address them to The Executive Director, RICE-WN not later than 5.00pm of Tuesday August 29, 2017.

 

Requirements

 

The interested CSO must:

  1. Be registered with a recognized institution i.e. NGO Bureau, District and Sub-County Local Governments;
  2. Have physical presence in at least one of the six (6) mentioned districts above;
  3. Attach a copy of valid registration certificate with a recognized institution;
  4. Attach copies of financial reports for the past two (2) years;
  5. Attach a letter of recommendation from either Sub-County Chiefs or District Chief Administrative Officers.

 


 

Application procedure

 

Letters of Expression of interest are to be hand delivered to RICE-WN Branch Offices in Arua (Plot 3B Mvara Oluko Road, Arua Municipality) and Moyo (Arua Road Opposite the Police Barracks)

 

N.B: The letter of interest must NOT exceed 2 pages.
